Irish dance

Inspired by Riverdance, we think Irish is a blast, and we hope you’ll love it too!   We learn the soft-shoe reel, jig and light jig styles of Irish dance, and percussive hard shoe variations for the more advanced Irish dancers!  We work to strengthen our leg and foot muscles needed for all our jumps and kicks.  Your dancer must know how to ride a bike and jump rope before she/he can be accepted into this class (I find that that is a good determiner of the coordination needed to dance the Irish way) and be able to turn out her/his legs and pointe toes.   We dance for recreational, practice & perform, purposes, and do not compete at Utah Feis.
